What Are Scheduled Tasks?

Scheduled Tasks let you define a recurring job in Cowork and forget about it. Claude wakes up on schedule, runs the task in a fresh session with full access to your files, plugins, and connectors, and notifies you when it's done.

Set Once, Runs Forever

Define your task and pick a frequency — hourly, daily, weekly, or weekdays only. Claude handles the rest, every time.

extension

Full Cowork Power

Each run has access to your files, MCP servers, plugins, connectors, and skills — the same capabilities as a manual Cowork session.

notifications_active

Never Miss a Run

If your computer is asleep when a task is due, Cowork auto-executes it when your machine wakes up and notifies you.

power_settings_new

Computer Must Be Awake

Scheduled tasks run locally. Your computer needs to be on and the Claude Desktop app open. Missed runs auto-execute when you're back.

cloud_off

No Cloud Execution Yet

Tasks run on your machine, not in the cloud. Cloud-based scheduling may come in a future update.
